Proud to be an inculsive employer headline shown along with Stonewall LGBTQ Inclusive employer Gold Award 2024 badge

LGBTQIA+ inclusion has long been a focus for us at Thoughtworks. Globally, we remain committed to improving experiences for lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer, intersex and asexual colleagues through our policies, practices and initiatives. We aim to create spaces where LGBTQIA+ colleagues, clients and communities feel safe, valued, respected and able to thrive. And we remain unwavering in our support for trans and non-binary people in the face of adversity as we advocate for human rights and gender equity for all.

In the UK, we have reached an important milestone in our LGBTQIA+ inclusion journey. This year, we celebrate a significant climb in the Stonewall Top 100 to our highest-ever ranking at 15th place. This is an increase of 49 places since last year and a jump of 299 places since Thoughtworks UK first entered at 314th in 2015. We are also incredibly proud to receive another gold award for our continued efforts around bi and trans inclusion specifically.

The Stonewall Workplace Equality Index is a benchmarking process that assesses best practice in LGBTQIA+ inclusion across hundreds of UK organizations. The results are based on evidence submitted by organizations as well as feedback from anonymous employee surveys. This progress is a direct result of our sustained and intentional efforts to embed improvements, promote LGBTQIA+ inclusion and drive meaningful change across our organization.  We are proud of what we have achieved so far but we know there is much more that needs to be done. That is why we are excited to announce that we are now part of Stonewall’s Global Diversity champions program, taking our impact even further across the globe.

We have been part of this journey for many years and are incredibly grateful to be part of a community that cares so deeply about inclusion. We appreciate our LGBTQIA+ employee group for sharing so openly, pushing for progress and holding leaders accountable.

Thank you to our leadership team for visibly advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community and to our operational teams for adapting and implementing policy change. From normalizing the use of pronouns and learning more about LGBTQIA+ experiences through TV, film and books to using visual cues like virtual backgrounds, pronoun badges, posters and lanyards to show solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community, inclusion is something we all play a part in.

This achievement is a great example of the power collective impact can have and I look forward to further advancing LGBTQIA+ inclusion for colleagues, clients and communities all over the world, together.
