Stuttgart is the capital of the southwest German state of Baden-Württemberg. As the birthplace of the automobile, the city has become a magnet for automobile enthusiasts from all over the world. Wine grows on the slopes of Stuttgart, which was a main source of income for the city until the 19th century. More than 400 stairs that once led to the wine-growing terraces and neighbouring villages still exist. In total they add up to over 20 kilometres of stairs!
