Thoughtworks, a global technology consultancy that integrates strategy, design, and engineering to drive digital innovation, has announced partnering with the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) in Ecuador to strengthen the synergy between academia and the tech sector. This agreement fosters the development of joint pre-professional practices, marking a significant milestone in the collaboration between the industry and the educational field.
Committed to transferring knowledge to future professionals, Thoughtworks Ecuador begins this collaboration with a five-year term. The goal is to provide enriching learning experiences for ESPOL students that includes sharing Thoughtworks’ best practices, tools and approach to responsible technology innovation.
Giovanni Serrano, Director of the Thoughtworks Ecuador Program, highlights the importance of this initiative: “The signing of this agreement is the result of a bond forged with the ESPOL Mentorship Program in 2023. This collaboration supports ESPOL's mission to train highly skilled professionals and is aligned with our vision to make a positive impact in the world through culture and technology excellence.”
This alliance enables ESPOL students in the final stages of their university education to access pre-professional practices, which are different from internships because they can earn the academic credits necessary for their graduation. In this way, ESPOL enhances opportunities for its students to integrate into the technology industry.
Through this collaboration, Thoughtworks increases its presence in academic institutions in Ecuador and ESPOL students gain the opportunity to experience Thoughtworks’ values and culture as they prepare to join the workforce.
