From our humble beginnings with a group of eight people to becoming a team of over 200 Thoughtworkers across the country, Thoughtworks Ecuador has an incredible history of growth and success. This year we celebrate a momentous milestone – 10 years of extraordinary impact.
In recognition of this occasion, we took some time to pause and reflect on some of our achievements. In a world of constant change, being able to make a significant impact on the lives of others is priceless.
Highlights of our journey include:
2013
The adventure began with the first gathering of Thoughtworkers Ecuador at the Café Ágil in Quito.
2014
We made the first Spanish translation of the Technology Radar, a cutting-edge guide that offers insights on the latest technologies and is now on Volume 28.
2015 - 2016
We opened our first office in the Brescia I building. In 2016, we organized events for the tech community, including the first edition of Code in the Dark.
2017
We positioned as leaders in local content with the first edition of XConf in Ecuador. This event brought industry professionals together to share ideas and inspire each other.
2018
We organized our first Super Saturday, a hiring initiative where the selection process was completed in just one day.
2019
We obtained our first Great Place to Work certification in Ecuador, recognizing our commitment to creating a great work environment.
2021
The company launched a new brand position and unveiled a new logo and visual identity to unify all our offices worldwide.
2022
In the first edition of Best Places to Work™ in Technology in Ecuador, we ranked eighth, acknowledging our inclusive efforts in the sector.
2023
We were recognized as the second-best company to work for in the country according to Great Place to Work. Additionally, globally, we celebrated our 30 years of extraordinary impact on the world.
One of the most significant changes in the last decade has been the impact of cloud services, which have been widely adopted across the industry. This has allowed the creation of countless supporting technologies and transformed the way we manage infrastructure, shifting from static and limited environments to dynamic and flexible ones.
Thanks to Thoughtworks' expertise and successful results in agile development, more and more companies are adopting these methodologies, leaving behind the traditional ones that used to be predominant. The agile approach has proven its value by better aligning projects with customer needs and delivering high-quality results in a more efficient timeframe.
The potential here is simply incredible. And that's part of the reason why we came to Ecuador: it's the level of talent, not only in Quito but across the country. The technical talent level shows both skill and capability that exists here. That's why I see a bright future.
