Farelogix and Thoughtworks Collaborate on Technology Enablement for Airline E-Commerce, Merchandising, Retailing, and Customer Engagement

Thoughtworks and Farelogix announce technology collaboration

Farelogix and Thoughtworks today announced a technology collaboration designed to meet the burgeoning demand for airline e-commerce solutions that support personalization, product differentiation, dynamic customer engagement, merchandising, and retailing across multiple channels, including websites and mobile applications. The companies bring together the power of Farelogix' FLX Merchandise and Gateway technologies and Thoughtworks' expertise in building software dedicated to deliver an exciting and engaging user experience. This unique combination will enable airlines to build brand loyalty and grow merchandising revenues.

Farelogix and Thoughtworks have defined a continuous delivery and implementation methodology designed for speed, scale, and flexibility, as well as a superior user experience. The combined solution set is designed for any airline looking for a cost-efficient merchandising and retailing solution for its website, mobile, or other sales channels. The scope can range from a simple addition of a new merchandising capability to an airline's existing commerce platforms or, in some cases, a full revamp of airline.com or mobile app channels. The delivery methodology provides for an end-to-end solution managed by one centralized project manager. Farelogix and Thoughtworks fully support the IATA NDC XML standard and will continue to use this schema in its collaborations.

"As airline ancillary revenue climbs into the tens of billions of dollars, there is growing market demand from airlines that want access to technologies that they fully control, allow for extremely fast speed to market for new products and services, and can address the full scope of deployment - from front-end/interface and user experience to the back-end plumbing, merchandising engine, and airline API," says Jim Davidson, CEO of Farelogix. "Farelogix has worked very hard to gain its current leadership position in airline-controlled distribution, merchandising, and component technologies. But our focus has never been on the user interface or customer experience. This is where Thoughtworks plays an essential role by delivering creative, efficient, and ground-breaking solutions that create the user experience airlines want to deliver as they compete for customers and loyalty."
