This blip is not on the current edition of the Radar. If it was on one of the last few editions it is likely that it is still relevant. If the blip is older it might no longer be relevant and our assessment might be different today. Representing yet another evolution away from traditional, free-standing application containers, Vert.x is an application framework that bridges synchronous and asynchronous programming styles. This gives the programmer the option to trade off scalability and performance for simplicity. Unlike Node.js, Vert.x is a library that can be called from a variety of languages supported on the JVM, including Java, Ruby and JavaScript.
