Doing Continuous Delivery with Legacy Systems

If continuous delivery and Lean enterprise practices are going to be adopted in the large, then we need to bring those techniques to all parts of our enterprise footprint, not just the greenfield systems.

In this video I talk about my experiences with the Suncorp Simplification Program that applied CD thinking to all parts of their delivery organization, including their Cobol mainframe systems. I discuss the myth of legacy applications, the importance of culture and organizational structure in supporting CD practices, and some examples of adapting agile thinking and techniques for the mainframe world.
