Yanina Ovando

I’ve always been the person at home trying to fix other people’s electronics or computers...even if that meant that I sometimes left them unusable. But it was really fun discovering how things work and learning along the way. Over time, I learned to write small algorithms for the games I played, so I decided to study Computing Engineering where I learned how to help people solve their problems with technology.

After graduating, a teacher told me about Thoughtworks and I was surprised by the Social Change lens at that time, because it was a way to work and still help people with what I do. I joined Thoughtworks in August 2018 and went to Pune as a trainee in the 63th batch at Thoughtworks University (TWU.)

I would love to go back to TWU as a trainer someday and give back what I learned to new Thoughtworkers. I've been working with different clients, learning and pushing myself in different technologies I wasn't always comfortable with, all while trying to find ways to support and contribute to positive social change.

I joined in August 2018 and went to Pune as a trainee in the 63th batch at Thoughtworks University. I had an amazing time there and would love to go again, but this time as a trainer. In less than a year I have learned so much about software, consulting and social and economic justice, but I still have so much to learn and improve as developer.
