Describe your experience so far at Thoughtworks in one or two words: Hidden gem
What does your job involve?
My job involves constant questions to myself “what does the team need to successfully deliver?”, making sure the team is communicating, has clear roles and responsibilities, unblocking risks and obstacles needed to be taken care of, provide resources the team needs, ensure stakeholders are on the same page and at the same time, support Thoughtworkers goals and aspirations.
What is the most rewarding aspect of what you do?
Being able to provide value and learn from clients’ businesses across various industries.
We’d love to hear about your career journey. Can you talk about what led you to Thoughtworks and your decision to join Thoughtworks?
My passion has always been exploring how to adopt new technologies to improve businesses so consulting has always been the perfect opportunity. The flexibility Thoughtworks has in terms of project and role opportunities are incredible.
What has been your favorite part of your Thoughtworks career to date?
Coming from a management consulting company, what has surprised me even since the interviewing process was that Thoughtworks expressed how they value and will make sure people’s work-life balance is taken care of and encourage their personal development. It sounded against consulting stereotypes from my experience so I was of course reluctant to believe it at first. However, the longer I have been here the more Thoughtworks has proved how they really walk the talk.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking of joining Thoughtworks?
There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to joining any company. Culture inevitably plays a big part in every organization and there is definitely no perfect firm. What I can suggest is to find it out as much as you can yourself, do your research, reach out to Thoughtworkers, learn more about the company’s missions and values, and see if it fits you.
Anything else that you wanted to add about your Thoughtworks journey?
It is a very unique experience joining Thoughtworks. Starting a new journey could be overwhelming sometimes but I can assure you with this bright working environment and open-minded people, your journey could be no less than an enjoyable one.
