Role/Title: Senior Consultant, Developer and Account Engagement Lead
Describe your experience so far at Thoughtworks in one or two words: Best practices
What does your job involve?
I am playing 2 roles, a developer and engagement lead. As a developer, I develop applications for the clients and provide consultancy to them. I listen to their problems, see what they are trying to achieve and what their limitations are, then recommend to them how to do it in a good way for better revenue, quality, scalability and maintainability etc. While in another role as an engagement lead, I try to build relationships with clients, understand their needs and articulate value to them, provide them consultancy in account management level, support Thoughtworkers well being and growth etc.
What is the most rewarding aspect of what you do?
I can work closely with clients, know their needs, give them suggestions on how to make things better, and implement something that really adds value to them. Besides client impact, it makes me improve a lot in the consultancy, communication and negotiation skills.
We’d love to hear about your career journey. Can you talk about what led you to Thoughtworks and your decision to join Thoughtworks?
Thoughtworks has a really flat organizational structure. We have no managers here. We can design our growth path. For example, if I want to be proficient in cloud infrastructure, I can talk to the staffing team and they will provide support for me to learn or join an account that has that opportunity when the door is open.
What has been your favorite part of your Thoughtworks career to date?
You can learn and improve a lot from working here. People are really supportive and there are plenty of opportunities for you to shine. Join us!
What advice would you give to anyone thinking of joining Thoughtworks?
Extraordinary impact can come from everyone here. Thanks for all the support the company and the team have given to me.
Anything else that you wanted to add about your Thoughtworks journey?
I'm so glad that I decided to join Thoughtworks. I've learned so much and met so many amazing people. After three years with Thoughtworks, I still feel like there is so much for me to grow in and explore here.
