The 'big data' world is moving quickly with predictions of amazing industry growth, and the 'Internet of Things' is playing an increasingly large role.
This week, Ashok Subramanian and I gave a talk in the UK about the kind of software architectures needed now and in the future in order to deal with the scale and velocity of information. We also shared why older approaches just don't work any more. Watch the video or view my slideshare from the event to learn more about the lambda architecture and similar approaches to dealing with streaming and stored data. From there we talked about the power of data, its use as a currency, and challenges to security and privacy.
