Imagine if you could be part of a team whose focus is to lower the total cost of software from a client by using Artificial Intelligence techniques to maintain it. I present to you DAMO™ (Digital Application Management Operation), the service line from Thoughtworks which represents the consulting approach to managed services. 

As part of the Managed Services team, our Thoughtworkers work in the sustain phase of a project. It can be divided into two parts: 

 

  • Application Managed Services (AMS) – focuses on managing and maintaining the software applications used within an organization, by including tasks such as application deployment, configuration, customization, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.

  • Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) – deals with managing the underlying IT infrastructure components that support applications and business operations, encompassing services related to servers, storage, networks, databases, operating systems, and cloud platforms.

 

Each client has access to three layers of support (L1, L2 &L3), depending on the complexity of the issue. L1 support provides a cost-effective solution, while L2 involves digging deeper into technical issues to understand the root cause of the problem and why it persists, and L3 focuses on code changes.  

 

That's why we have 5 different careers in managed services. Here, you will have space to be a System Support Engineer, Service Reliability Engineer, Infrastructure Support Engineer, Pre-sales Solutions Architect or a Service Delivery Manager. In these roles, we believe that the support is not just about responding to incidents – all our engineers learn and work with AI. 

 

In our managed services projects, our people need to be prepared for a challenging environment of leading with giving value to the clients by trying to enhance more and more. Therefore, we look for some specific skills like problem solving abilities, written and verbal good communication and customer-centric, building long-lasting relationships with our clients in a strong and trustful way.
